Moshi Tanzania

The distinctly clean capital of the densely populated Kilimanjaro region sits at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro and offers a fine introduction to the splendours of the north. It’s a laid‑back town with an appealing mix of African and Asian influences and a self‑reliant, prosperous character, thanks largely to its role as the centre of one of Tanzania’s main coffee‑growing regions. Most visitors come to climb Mt Kilimanjaro or to rest after having done so, but there’s plenty more on offer, including cultural tours and walks on the mountain’s lower slopes.
